ACWC conducted a study tour to Geneva to meet with the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, various UN agencies working on women and child rights, and the Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC), as well as to observe the state reviews. The visit was organised by the UN Women, UNICEF and OHCHR.
During the visit, AICHR Representatives met with US State Department, Officials of the US Congress, various UN agencies, the Inter-American Human Rights Commission and other stakeholders
ACWC discussed their five-year work plan, priority issues and the Rules of Procedures.

With the theme of with the theme of Enhancing Awareness and Information Services to Protect the Rights of Migrant Workers, the 3rd ASEAN Forum on Migrant and Labour made key recommendations on the implementation of the 2007 Declaration on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Migrant Workers, including: improve information and services to better protect women and men migrant workers; strengthen and raise the visibility of labour attachés and consular staff to respond to reported violations of their citizens abroad; engage broadly with employers' and employees' associations and civil society organizations to develop services for migrant workers; share good practices between ASEAN Member States and international organizations.
The AMM approved AICHR s work plan and budget for 2010-2011. The AMM requested AICHR prepare an indicative budget for the 2010-2015 budget. The AMM stressed the importance of aligning ACWC and other ASEAN Sectoral Bodies' work with that of AICHR.

ACMW decided that: a) the instrument on migrant workers rights drafting team should continue its work; b) ACMW would explore innovative approaches to reaching consensus, for example by firstly focusing on common ground amongst the Member States and c) expansion of the drafting team members.
At its First Regular meeting, AICHR discussed the drafting of its Rules of Procedure, development of a Five Year Work Plan (2010 to 2015). AICHR announced that both documents will be completed in time for adoption by the 43rd ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (AMM) in July 2010. At the meeting, AICHR representatives also met with representatives of the Senior Officials Meeting on Social Welfare and Development (SOMSWD) and the ASEAN Committee on Women (ACW) to discuss the alignment of the ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC) with AICHR. The AICHR also met with the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) to discuss operational matters, including the Commission s budget.
